In the western media, Indian Media and even Pakistani media, there are writers and speakers who portray CPEC's exploitative features. But all the projects under CPEC are not loan based. Majority of coal projects with the exception of Thar are not loan based. There will be independent power producers, Pakistan will buy electricity. Gawadar and other projects are on Built Operate Model and are not loan based.
The investment in the agriculture and livestock sector yet to be arrived and will not be loan based. Majority of railway and road projects are loan based. Series of energy projects are loan based but all these loans are concessional loans by Chinese and Pakistani officials.
In all the CPEC projects 80% labour will be from Pakistan and 20% from China. So CPEC is a lifetime opportunity for Pkistan.
